1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Ranjeet Laungani, and I lead GlowTerra Clean Beauty, the Middle East’s first all-clean beauty retailer.

After spending two decades in corporate America and living in different cities around the world, I finally gave in to my entrepreneurial itch when we moved to Dubai. I love big ideas, I’m endlessly curious and I enjoy working with people who are purpose-driven and solution-focused. I teach my two girls that nothing is beyond reach for them and that if they can dream it, they can do it.

Now, as the CEO of Laniakea Ventures, I’m excited to be building GlowTerra Clean Beauty—the Middle East’s first all-clean beauty retailer—right here in Dubai. The learning curve has been tremendous. It’s such a rewarding journey to turn a dream into reality, especially since I get to do it with my wife, Mamta, who’s my co-founder and partner in every sense of the word.


2. Can you share a pivotal moment in your life where you defied traditional societal norms and challenged the status quo? What are the values and beliefs you were representing at this moment?

Starting GlowTerra Clean Beauty was surely one of those moments. For us being a player in the clean beauty space is not just about profits, it’s about redefining what people expect from the industry.

We believed the Middle East deserved a beauty retailer focused on transparency and safety, and that’s exactly what we’re creating. By introducing an objective clean rating for every product, we’re standing up for the idea that consumers have the right to know what they’re putting on their skin. It hasn’t always been easy but knowing we’re making a positive impact keeps us going.


3. How do you define being a “rebel” in the context of your industry, and how does your business embody this?

To me, being a rebel means having the courage to ask, “Can we do better?” and then working hard to make it happen. GlowTerra Clean Beauty embodies that spirit by challenging industry norms and raising the bar on product standards.

While we admire what established players like Sephora, FACES and Boots have achieved, we’re on a different path—educating consumers and championing toxin-free products. Being a rebel isn’t about going against the grain for the sake of it; it’s about believing that meaningful change is possible and worth fighting for.


4. Can you share which Clean Rebel product is your favorite?

The Clean Rebel Essence Cleanser is my go-to. It’s hydrating, effective, and fits perfectly into my shower routine. It leaves my face feeling fresh and clean every time—it’s a small but impactful way to start the day.


5. What is a myth about clean beauty that you would like to see busted?

A big myth is that clean beauty is always expensive. While it’s true that clean products often require higher-quality ingredients and have higher standards, it doesn’t mean they’re out of reach. At GlowTerra Clean Beauty, we have options starting as low as AED 30, going up to premium choices for those who want something extra special. Clean beauty is for everyone.


6. What advice would you give to others aspiring to make a real difference in their industry? And why do you believe that each one of us should express ourselves as the individuals that we are?

  • Follow your passion—it’s what will keep you going when the journey gets tough.
  • Dream big—every groundbreaking movement or company started with a single idea. Think of where Dubai or NVIDIA was 20 years ago.
  • Start small but start now—even the boldest ideas begin with one step.

When you’re driven by purpose and truly believe in what you’re doing, the possibilities are limitless. If you can dream it, you can achieve it.
