I’m Mariam Solika (@thegoodnewsms), a sustainability communications expert by day and a content creator by night. My passion for finding the silver lining in every situation inspired me to create my brand, THE GOOD NEWS, which shares positivity and hope with the Arab world.
2. Can you share a pivotal moment in your life where you defied traditional societal norms and challenged the status quo? What are the values and beliefs you were representing at this moment?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, while the world focused on negativity and fear, I chose to spotlight hope and resilience by creating THE GOOD NEWS. This platform became a beacon of positivity, embodying values of optimism, kindness, and perseverance for the Arab world.
3. How do you define being a “rebel” in the context of your industry, and how does your business embody this?
Being a “rebel” in my industry means challenging the status quo and reshaping narratives. Media is the most powerful tool that shapes behaviors and perceptions. With THE GOOD NEWS, I’ve made it my mission to amplify hope, highlight positivity, and inspire resilience, always, even in the face of challenges.
4. As a busy professional, you probably spend a lot of time going from meeting to meeting and traveling. How do you maintain your skincare routine on the go and what are your go-to products?

My advice is to discover your unique voice and embrace it unapologetically. What sets you apart is your greatest strength. Authenticity not only creates impact but also inspires others to find their own individuality and make a difference.
